Mary Mary, Tamela Mann & Cedric The Entertainer Set For High Tea

Stating that they were humbled to receive an award with the magnitude of women being honored, Erica Atkins-Campbell and Tina Atkins-Campbell of Mary Mary received the L.A. Focus First Ladies High Tea Spirit Award 2012.
“To be here and to be celebrated by such wonderful women who do such great work is an honor,” said Erica Atkins, who arrived with her mother for the gala honoring work done by women of faith in Los Angeles.
Over 850 women representing upwards of 100 churches were in attendance for the tea. The grand ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel was awash in hats, gloves, feathers and all round glitz for the event that has become annual tradition in L.A.’s church community. Highlights of the event including a fashion show featuring “The Yolanda Adams Collection” and selections from gospel recording artists Kathy Taylor-Brown and Tamela Mann, with Cedric The Entertainer introducing the first ladies.
The event was hosted by Yolanda Adams and featured the tradition fare: tea sandwiches and scones.
First Lady Faith In Action Honorees for 2012 included Tisa Hill, first lady of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church; Togetta Ulmer, first lady of Faithful Central Bible Church; and Evelyn Perkins, first lady of True Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, while Apostle Beverly ‘Bam’ Crawford, pastor of Bible Enrichment Fellowship International Church received the Legacy Award.
It was the second appearance at the event for Mary Mary. The Grammy winning sister duo performed at the tea in 2006.
